Elaine Woodward  

Elaine Woodward is the co-owner and Executive Director of Life Works Counselling and Training Services Inc.  She is also the owner of Paragon Corporate Services.

Her business background is in Human Resource Management, Organization Development, Business Management and Board Management and Development, Employment and Training, with over twenty+ years of experience.

Elaine has worked for federal, and territorial governments, and for a non-profit financial organization. In private business, she has, on a contractual basis, worked for numerous Inuit and First Nation organizations, mining companies, large corporations, small businesses, etc.  

She has extensive experience in writing, research, and development of programs, curriculums, policies, manuals, job descriptions, proposals, etc. Elaine also facilitates community meetings, community roundtable sessions, workshops, and presentations to a broad variety of audiences, 10-500 people, on different issues/topics.

In May, 2011, the Gidins of Skidegate adopted Elaine into the Eagle Clan, giving her the Haida name Gina Nang Kings.   Elaine’s health-related background is as follows: CNA training in 1974; a Usui and Karuna Reiki Master (Practitioner and Teacher), a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner, a BodyTalk Practitioner, a Certified Aromatherapist and a Practitioner of Psychosomatic Therapy. Elaine studied Applied Meditation and Visualization, Kundalini Meditation, and Tibetan Buddhist Traditional Meditation for many years. She also learned Breathwork and did her first Firewalk with Dan Brule, a pioneer in the Art and Science of Breathwork and an international certified rebirther.

For 30 years Elaine lived and worked in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Since 2004, she has lived in Millarville, Alberta.  She is the mother of three sons. Elaine is of Chipewyan (Dene) and Swedish ancestry. She is the author of Grandmother, a book of poetry and short stories. In 2015, Elaine walked Spain’s Camino Francis, and in 2016, the Camino Del Norte.
