Our Team

Life Works Counselling and Training Services Inc. was founded by Terry Garchinski, B.A., B.S.W., M.S.W., R.S.W., in 1994, in Yellowknife, N.T.    Elaine Woodward became a business partner in 2000.   Initially, the business provided counselling and workshop services throughout the Northwest, Nunavut and Yukon Territories.

In 2004, with the intent of expanding the business Canada-wide, they began with Elaine setting up a business base in Millarville, AB, while still managing the Yellowknife office.  By 2008, they successfully met their expansion goals, closed the Yellowknife office to fully operate the business from the Millarville base.  For a full bio on Elaine, Terry, and/or contracted team members,  please use the menu above.

Other team members include:

• Ilisaqsivik Society, is a community wellness organization that provides services primarily in Clyde River; and provides Critical Incident Stress Debriefing services to other Baffin communties, upon requests. Together, we deliver  The Inuit Counsellors’ Training and Mentorship Program – With a Focus On Addictions (aka Our Life’s Journey), the Train the Facilitator Program, the Work Ready Program, and the Making It Work Program.
